You can find all walks of life on our campuses — from anime enthusiasts to robot builders to future culinary geniuses. But if you don’t see the club or organization that meets your interests, don’t worry. You can start your own! Starting a club is quick and simple. Find out how.

Starting a Club Is as Easy as 1, 2, 3

Any San Jacinto College student or faculty member can start a club or organization on campus. For help refining your club idea, reach out to the Office of Student Engagement and Support. We’ll help you reactivate an old club or follow the steps below to create a brand new organization.
  1. Gather Your Club Members

Got a great idea for a new club? Before you register, make sure you have the required number of initial participants: at least five enrolled students and one faculty or staff advisor. Student Engagement and Support coordinators can help you find and connect with an advisor, if needed. Once you’ve gathered your crew, you’re ready for step two.

  2. Apply to Register

Next step? Put pen to paper. Complete a Student Organization Registration Application, along with the following:

    • A statement of purpose explaining how your club aligns with the aims of the college.
    • The names, addresses, and phone numbers of all initial officers and members.
    • The name and office number of the club’s advisor(s).

  3. Create and Submit a Constitution

Now it’s time to make it official. All new organizations are required to submit a club constitution for approval within 60 days of completing their registration process. A Student Engagement and Support coordinator will confirm or deny your club registration within 30 days.
