Under the "My Student Records" tab, click My Registration. Follow the system prompts and make sure to select your desired registration term.

The Six-Drop Course Limit

The Texas state law allows students to withdraw from up to six courses throughout their undergraduate career. Here are some facts to know about the six-drop course limit.

Benefit of Withdrawing or Dropping

Withdrawing or dropping a course can help you avoid receiving a penalty to your grade point average.

Grade Consequences

If you withdraw from a course that counts towards your drop limit, you will receive a grade of withdrawal limit (WL).

Factors to Consider

Before dropping a course, you should consider multiple factors, including financial aid, scholarships, course drop deadlines, and program requirements. Read the full policy for more details.

Exclusions

Certain courses, such as developmental courses and workforce education courses, are excluded from the six-drop limit.

Requesting an Exemption

Speak to your Program Advisor to request an exemption for a course to not count toward your limit.

Process For Reviewing Exemption Requests

The request form and additional information will be reviewed by the Advising Committee to determine if the request is approved.
