HOUSTON, TX – Abacus Plumbing, Air Conditioning & Electrical is strengthening the local workforce by partnering with San Jacinto College’s English as a Second Language (ESL) program. This initiative provides new employees with vital language skills, fostering career advancement and community impact.
The 10-week course, developed and led by San Jac’s adult education and literacy and continuing and professional development programs, offers 40 hours of classroom instruction utilizing self-paced, English-learning software. Currently, 23 HVAC technicians are enrolled—many of whom are new Abacus employees—gaining language skills that promote workplace confidence and career growth.
