Earn Your GED

Here are a few things you should know before scheduling your GED exam at San Jac.

Registering for GED

To learn more about the GED exam and to find out about the eligibility and registration guidelines, visit the GED website. Once you're ready to test, you can schedule through GED.

Eligible to receive testing accommodations? You will need to confirm what kind of accommodations GED can provide. San Jac will work with GED to ensure you receive any approved accommodations.

Once you pass the GED exam, you can receive your certificate through GED.

Before Scheduling Your Test

Depending on the sections you will take, GED varies in time allowed. You can't take unscheduled breaks during a section. You also can’t pause the exam. You must finish the exam within the allowed time limit.

When you're ready to test, be sure to have:

  • Your current government-issued photo ID (driver's license, passport, etc.)
  • Proof of residency

If you need to retest, please review the GED retesting policy to see if you qualify.

Misconduct and Infraction Guidelines

Our Testing Centers have a responsibility to faculty and students to respond to any infractions that may occur. We administer GED under the policy, rules and guidelines set forth by Pearson. When candidates arrive for the test, the Testing Center staff will review the policy, rules, and guidelines. Information about the test will also be provided to the candidate through their platform GED account.
