Eleven San Jacinto College baseball players have earned all-conference or all-Region XIV honors.
First-team all-Region XIV South Conference honors went to sophomores Ty Roman (Vega Alta, Puerto Rico / Leadership Christian Academy), Keegan Knutson (Hanesville, Wis. / Combine Academy), and Jake Bennett (Louisville, Ky. / St. Xavier HS); and freshmen Michael Bollinger, Jr. (Ft. Lauderdale, Fl. / Saint Thomas Aquinas High School) and MacCabe Moyer (San Diego, Calif. / IMG Academy).
Second-team all-Region XIV South Conference honors were awarded to sophomores Augie Mojica (Tampa / A3 Academy) and Derek Gippson (Gurabo, Puerto Rico / Puerto Rico Baseball Academy and HS); and freshmen Brandon Arvidson (Dripping Springs / Dripping Springs HS), Anthony Diaz (Boston / Snowden International HS), Tre Broussard(Houston / Clear Brook HS), and Landon Hunt (Houston / Clear Brook HS).
Bennett earned conference co-offensive player of the year after batting .337 this season. In 166 at bats, he had 56 hits including 10 doubles and a team high 5 triples and 18 homeruns.
All National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Region XIV first-team honors went to Arvidson, Moyer, Broussard and Bennett; and second-team recognition went to Bollinger, Jr., and Knutson.
“I am proud of these guys for their hard work on the field this season,” said Acting Head Coach David Wood, who led the Ravens to a 40-21 overall record this season. “This recognition is well deserved, and I congratulate them all for receiving these honors.”
