The ABC's of Conversational ESL

The Conversational ESL program is broken down into four sections: Beginner, Intermediate, High Intermediate, and Advanced. Each of these has two levels, and each level is taught as one course.

When you register for the Conversational ESL program, you will take a placement test to determine which level to start. You can take one four-week course or work your way up through the levels to master the English language.

Each of these courses is taught for two hours each day, Monday through Thursday, for four weeks.

Level 1 - Beginning A
This course focuses on:

  • High-frequency vocabulary (common words in the English language that are used for understanding. Examples are: the, is, and, of, and to)

  • Refining oral and written skills

The Power of Persistence

Josmar Garcia
After retiring as a professor, I decided to start a new stage of my life and come to this country. A country whose language was different than mine… In the past three years, I have worked hard, and I now believe that when we have a desire to grow and overcome obstacles it can all be accomplished by being persistent and having a desire to prosper.”
TALAE Adult Learner Award
